Air Filtration Systems and Air Purifiers in Las Vegas, NV

It just wouldn’t be Southern Nevada if we didn’t have all this dust! While we who live here are certainly used to it, it doesn’t change the fact that excess dust in our homes can exacerbate allergies, asthma, and make it harder for those with weakened immune systems. Even without the dust, the air inside of homes is often several times worse than the air outside. For those times, air filtration and air purification systems might be your best solution.

Which Air Filter is Best for Your Needs?

This is a question that your HVAC technician will be able to answer for you. Not every home has the same indoor air quality issues, so there’s no use in installing filters or purifiers just for the sake of it. We’ll send a licensed and certified technician over, and they’ll be able to test the air for you. They can then install the right combination of systems, in the best places, in order to get the best results.

  • Air Filters: Also called mechanical filters, these filters are made of materials like fiberglass and designed to trap contaminants as the air passes through them. Different grades exist in order to catch different sizes of particles.
  • Air Purifiers: When mechanical filters are not enough, air purifiers might be used instead. Different kinds exist, but they all typically use electricity to charge the particles in the air. They are then charged to a plate for later disposal or may fall to the ground where they can be cleaned up just like dust.
  • UV Air Purifiers: Neither air filters or normal purifiers can account for microorganisms. That’s where UV air purifiers come in. This purifiers—equipped with ultraviolet lights—will eliminate viruses, mold spores, and more.

Air Filtration System Replacement and Maintenance

These air quality devices will experience wear and tear with continued use and will eventually need to be replaced or maintained with regular tune-ups.

Mechanical air filters will regularly become filled with contaminants and need to be replaced entirely. Using a combination of filters and purifiers can help reduce the frequency that they need to be changed. Air purifiers, on the other hand, are electronic devices that will eventually wear out. They may need maintenance or replacement after several years of use.
